Destined to make science, the Camaleão 8700 team, joined the Cansat 2016 competition. And we are proudly declare that we have been acepted in the national phase. Our project is distinguished by its extremely current importance and the use of remote sensing in infrared band. In a world where global warming is increasingly constraining the lives of living beings is imperative to curb the impacts. Although measures have been taken since a few years (the last global environmental summit was in 2015 in Paris, France, where they signed the COP-21 agreement, which was congratulated for having created the necessary foundations for a global movement), the lived reality is the continuing extinction of species, caused by the atmospheric change.

Many countries that, based their economy on industries that are in direct relation to the problem, ignore it, causing imbalances in their systems, e.g. China, where last year it launched the orange alert, however it states that the peak of their emissions will only be in 2030. It is of utmost importance to monitor progress and to survey damage from this sad reality and it’s exactly this that our team intends to do.
